Bina McLoughlin. Relationship Counsellor BA(Hons),PG Dip, PGCE, MBACP
Are aspects of your relationship upsetting or worrying you?
I am a relationship counsellor who works with individuals or couples (of all sexual orientations) on all relationship issues. I trained and worked at Tavistock Relationships since 2005 (formerly the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships) in Central London. I am now in private practice in the Croydon-Oxted area.
Relationship therapy focuses on the impact of your own and your partner's behaviour on your relationship. A relationship is by definition an interaction. Any problem, from anxiety to depression, experienced by one partner affects both in some way. Relationship issues can feel very frustrating and communication may seem impossible for many reasons. Sexual difficulties may feel impossible to resolve.
I provide a safe place for you to explore your feelings and issues in a confidential, non-judgemental and non-intrusive setting. My hope is that you can move on to a happier and more satisfying life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships. I recently worked as a counsellor/therapist there, seeing both couples and individuals. I have a Post-Graduate Diploma in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I have been seeing clients since 2010 under full supervision.I am a full member of the BACP and the BACPC. I am currently completing a Masters (MSc in Psychosexual Therapy).
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Areas of counselling I deal with
I charge £65 for the initial assessment which lasts 75 minutes. The fee for ongoing therapy sessions of 55 minutes is £50 to £60, depending on income.
