Beverly Stone BACP Registered Accredited Couples Counsellor
I am a BACP registered accredited counsellor with twenty years experience of relationship and marriage guidance counselling. I offer short and long term counselling for couples and individuals whose current or past relationships are causing distress or concern.
I have held a successful private practice for the last eight years.
You may have experienced a crisis, such as an affair or are trying to deal with unmanageable conflict, or you may just have a feeling that something doesn't feel quite right.I offer a safe and neutral environment to think about and resolve your concerns.
Relationship therapy can be helpful for those couples who are planning to separate and for individuals having to deal with the loss of a relationship through separation, divorce or bereavement.
If you are undergoing fertility treatment or experiencing fertility issues, I can offer implications, support and therapeutic counselling.
Depression and your relationship
Perhaps you and/or your partner suffer with depression and it is having an impact on your relationship and you wish to consider couples work as a way of supporting your mental health difficulties. In these cases I work with the Couple Therapy for Depression therapeutic model which is formulated to specifically work with these issues.
I have recent experience in working with women who are experiencing antenatal or postnatal anxiety and /or depression.
I offer face to face therapy in the centre of Canterbury. I also offer on line sessions for those couples or individuals who find it difficult to attend sessions.
What to expect
Our first meeting will be an initial consultation and if after that appointment you decide to undertake ongoing sessions, it is usual for us to meet weekly at the same time and on the same day. For those who are working shifts we will negotiate a regular arrangement to accommodate your commitments.
I usually allow up to 90 minutes for the initial assessment appointment and ongoing sessions are usually 60 minutes in length. It is usual to pay for missed sessions. Appointments are offered during the day and evening on weekdays and Saturday morning.
