About Me

At the heart of my counselling practice is my belief that every person is born with the natural capacity to lead a rich and fulfilling life with an inbuilt capacity to heal.

Every so often, though, life can feel difficult as we struggle to come to terms with day to day challenges, relational experiences, work-related conflicts and events that happen to us.

Sometimes we don’t know what is bothering us, we just have a sense that something doesn’t seem right or that there must be more to life than what we are currently experiencing.

At times like these, it can be good to talk to somebody who can help you to sort out what is the matter in a way that you cannot do by yourself.

I have specific experience and a genuine desire to work with people who have experienced bereavement and loss, either in early life or subsequently. As well as bereavement I specialise in helping people through periods of change and life transition such as work-related stress, divorce, adjusting to Motherhood/ Fatherhood, Changes in employment, relocation.

In my experience adjusting to changes in life can bring about anxiety and stress that if worked through with a trusted other can bring about growth and personal/ professional development.

I integrate talking therapy and working with nervous system regulation to encourage mindfulness and a natural resolution to the difficulties you are experiencing.

I can't claim to know exactly what it feels like to be you because every person is unique. I am however committed to walking alongside you through your process and look forward to seeing you emerge from what can often feel like an impossible situation with more clarity, purpose, meaning and fulfilment.

When you are ready to discuss your concerns further, e-mail me beverly@gloscounselling.care for a chat and to book your 90 min introductory session to discuss your concerns.

Often people have conflicting push/pull feelings about embarking on therapy. They are unsure as to whether it is therapy they need or something entirely different. Many are bewildered by the wide - range of therapies on offer and what would be the best approach for them. Frequently people are concerned as to whether they will 'get on' with the therapist. All these thoughts and feelings are natural when you are considering investing your time, money and attention to something new and as important as understanding yourself better.

I am mindful of this 'pre-therapy' state and try to make this transition as easy as possible for you. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Call me for a confidential chat on 07821 691 728.
