About me

I am a fully qualified Therapist with over 20 years of experience in the counselling and psychotherapy profession. I have been helping clients since 2003. I am a registered member of BACP.

I am predominantly person centred in my practice and I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is fundamental to supporting people with any challenges they may have. I also integrate other models in my work as is appropriate. I work face to face, online by Zoom, by telephone and by email.

I can also offer walk and talk sessions weather permitting. Please feel free to have a look at my website and see if you would like to find out more.

Training, qualifications & experience

I started my Training in 2001 with a Certificate in Counselling Skills. I went on to formal training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy completing this in 2005. This led to me gaining my Diploma In Counselling (Transactional Analysis) qualification. Most recently I have gained a BACP endorsed Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling.

Since 2005 I have worked extensively with clients experiencing Anxiety and Depression, Relationship and Work related issues, Bereavement and Loss, including the loss of their companion animals. I have worked with many people receiving Palliative Care and their families.

I take my work very seriously and want to give my clients the best experience I can. With this in mind, I spend time keeping up to date with the latest thinking and research in therapy and how best to help my clients.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
