About me

My name is Bev Arthur-Barrow and I qualified and have been practising as a Therapeutic Counsellor since my graduation in 2003.

I am a very experienced counsellor offering a confidential personal service to the individuals I work with.  I have undertaken EAP work and within the NHS environment.

I have had the opportunity to work in the areas of:

Schools both on an individual basis and in groups of 10 delivering group workaround:

  • life and family issues.

Individual work has been undertaken with the following clientele:

My service is undertaken in a holistic and humanistic way making it suitable for all ages, cultures, and genders to access from individuals or families from all communities with complete confidence and success.

Having always pursued study, my work has allowed me to become the successful therapist I am today making an impact on the lives of the individuals. I work with through a range of therapeutic approaches. I constantly endeavour to develop my skills and passion in wanting to assist others to make the changes in both their behaviours and thinking to develop a positive life for themselves looking after their wellbeing.

I have always accessed the methodologies of communicating with the client to assess and respond to their individual needs.

I am proficient in working with individuals in the areas of:

  • anxiety

  • problem-solving
  • health promotion
  • relaxation.

And other relevant activities strategies and techniques allowing for the changes an individual will want to make to improve their lives and wellbeing. I have found that the most rewarding element of my role is, as you might expect, is the promotion of seeing the changes in the individuals I work with, them developing and undertaking a realistic plan to move forward. The ultimate aim of all that I do being to allow the individual I am working with to live the fullest, meaningful life possible.
