About me

The struggles me meet in our lives can become overwhelming; I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can share, at your own pace, whatever you are facing and together we can explore your experiences, feelings and choices, helping you to discover your own way forward.

I have a strong practise of careful, deep and empathic listening alongside a gentle belief grounded in ongoing experience, that as we build trust between us with commitment to the counselling process then real changes can gradually grow and unfold. It was through seeking counselling myself and discovering how helpful it became that I chose a vocation in counselling.

I've worked with a wide range of different challenges people bring including anxiety, trauma, depression, bereavement, relationship struggles, abuse, OCD, eating disorders, suicidal feelings, mental health difficulties and counselling for self development.

I also offer the opportunity to incorporate creative therapy alongside talking therapy if, when and as you choose. This might involve the use of colour, movement, sound, paint, clay, crafts, sand-play, poetry, whatever you are drawn to that helps you to explore and discover in a warm, non-judgmental environment.

"Every human being has the capacity to be creative. What is creative is frequently therapeutic. What is therapeutic is frequently a creative process... using the expressive arts to foster emotional healing...and awaken individual creativity is an increasingly expanding field." Natalie Rogers.

Training, qualifications & experience

I studied and gained my CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with Strode College in Street, Somerset after working as a care and support worker for people with mental health difficulties, people with learning disabilities and elders. Studying the therapeutic process in-depth felt very much like the natural way forward for me.

I have been counselling for over 5 years, working for Mind and New Dawn Counselling Agencies as well as working in Private Practice. I graduated from Winchester University with a BA 1st honors in Dance and Drama Studies combined. This has served as a strong foundation for supporting clients whom choose to involve creative exploration within their therapy.

I have CPD training in many different areas including working with Children, working with Mental Health Difficulties, working with Trauma and Sexual Trauma, working with Eating Disorders and working with Addiction, Creative Therapy and also Movement and dance Therapy. I am dedicated to ongoing regular Continuing Professional Development.
