About me

I am currently offering a reduced rate of £17 per session due to the Covid-19 Pandemic

I will be able to offer you a safe space to offload your current worries and feelings by allowing you to share you story freely with no judgement.

I will ensure that you are listened to and respected throughout your journey in a trusting and encouraging environment.

I will hold your feelings of anxiousness, anger and pain and ensure you are the focus of our sessions.

Together we will work through your fears, anxieties and worries allowing you to move forward freely.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer an affordable counselling service accessible via face-to-face counselling sessions, home visit counselling sessions and video and online counselling sessions.

I am a registered member of the BACP and follow their ethical framework to ensure your best interest is at the forefront of the therapy. I use an integrative approach to help connect with you as I find this gives the best results including Person Centred Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I have two years experience working in a further education establishment offering counselling and mentoring support to both students and staff. Whilst working at the establishment I would regularly work with students seeking support for anxiety, relationships, bereavement and miscarriage. I also have a years experience working on a 24/7 crisis helpline offering intervention strategies, counselling support and advice. I have extensive experience of working with suicidal ideation and self harm.

I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have completed a variety of training courses to enhance my therapeutic work, including but not limited to:

-Psychoeducation of Stress (Via The Open University)

-Working with Mindfulness (Via The Open University)

-Working with Bereavement in Solution Focused Therapy (Private CPD)

-Working with Addiction in Solution Focused Therapy (Private CPD)

-Working with Trauma in Solution Focused Therapy (Private CPD)

-Safeguarding and working therapeutically with adults (MIND)

-Safeguarding and working with Children (Place2Be)

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
