About me

I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important elements in the therapeutic process. I use an Integrative approach which includes the Person-Centred approach and I draw on other techniques so I can cater to the individual needs of each client.

We can explore coping mechanisms that can help you manage your own emotions. Overall, I want you to be in a better position to when you first started working with me.

In our sessions, my aim is for you to feel more confident and for feel like you can handle the ups and downs of life.

"Bethan really hears me without judging which helps me accept myself. She's warm, encouraging and helpful and has a way of asking questions which helps me think about my situation from a different angle. I feel I benefit each time we speak and I look forward to it!"

Some techniques I use within my sessions include; Mindfulness, grounding techniques and visualisations.  These techniques help me to support you and what you bring ensuring that the session is tailored to what you need. Our sessions are collaborative but are led by you and what you would like to bring.

I pride myself on providing a warm and safe space for clients to be able to explore a wide range of issues such as Anxiety, Stress, Self-Esteem, Low Mood, Bereavement, Religious Trauma and more.

I have a specific interest in working with people typically between the age 16-35. I am available to take on short and long-term clients.

I am a qualified NCS Registered Counsellor and have undertaken additional training in working online to ensure I am competent to work with these modes of delivery.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have volunteered at Network Counselling as a trainee and a qualified counsellor which has given me an experience of working with clients from different cultural beliefs and backgrounds.

I previously have Volunteered at Changed Bristol as a meeting facilitator and a Befriender during the pandemic which was via the phone. This experience has provided the experience of supporting members and ensuring there was a safe space for each member.
