About me

I understand that it can be difficult to take that first step in coming to Counselling - I can provide you with a safe place to confidentially explore whatever is troubling you. Together we will help you identify what may be causing you pain and distress and from there, help you make changes which will allow you to heal and move forward.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, which means that I can use different approaches and techniques, depending on what is useful for you - the main approaches I use are Person Centred and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), which I will adapt based on what you might need at this point of your life.

I am experienced in working with individuals who have encountered a wide range of personal issues including anxiety, stress, depression, domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence, redundancy/employment issues, bereavement, .

I can offer counselling from locations in either Ballymena (including evening appointments) or Ballymoney  - depending on what best suits you.

I am an Accredited and Registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their Ethical Principles and Guidelines.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

£35 per session (50 minutes)

Your first session will include an assessment, during which I will begin getting to know you and you can ask any questions you have about counselling or what to expect from counselling. After this, you will decide on the number of sessions you wish to attend and we will base the counselling work around this - you are always in control of how often you want to attend.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
