One size does not fit all - you are unique.
Have you been feeling overwhelmed, confused, anxious, numb or distressed; perhaps your thoughts, feelings and concerns seem knotted and unclear?
I can offer you a safe and confidential environment in which you can discuss and explore or untangle your experiences, try to make sense of what's happening to you and help you find a way forward.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw upon my knowledge of several therapeutic models, which means I use the insights these approaches provide, to establish what might help you as an individual.
It can be difficult to talk about sensitive things so it's important to find a counsellor thats right for you. If you would like to meet with me to find out if I might be someone you could talk to, please contact me to arrange a no obligation session.
I have over twenty years experience in both short term and long term therapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling;
Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling supervision
Having worked as a Counsellor/Psychological Therapist within doctor surgeries locally for some years, I bring a broad knowledge of helping individuals who are struggling with the variety of difficulties and challenges that life can present.
Life events can leave us feeling isolated and uncertain; I have helped people struggling with issues such as family difficulties, redundancy, ill health, those coming to terms with things such as separation, divorce, menopause or sexuality. Some clients have experienced physical or emotionally abusive relationships, bullying and loss.
Those caring for a loved one with terminal illness or dementia can benefit from having someone outside the family to talk to.
I have worked with many bereaved clients: those whose loved ones have died from illness such as cancer and others whose relatives and friends have died in unexpected circumstances such as traffic accidents and suicide, miscarriage and still birth.
Personal development - You may wish to attend sessions because you want to spend time reflecting on the past in order to develop your self awareness or because you are striving to be all that you can be in the future. I have worked with many trainee counsellors.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
