My name is Bernadette, but everyone calls me Bernie which sounds more like me. I'm a very down to earth person with a caring and warm nature. I have always loved working with people and enabling them to make a difference to their life.
You may be feeling worried at the moment about seeing a counselor, I would like to reassure you that this is the first step of your journey, for a positive way forward.
I am a qualified counsellor using a person centered approach. I can offer you confidential face to face counselling sessions in a comfortable and safe environment, allowing you an opportunity to have the time and space needed to explore your issues at your own pace. I have the skills and resources to support you in many ways, to meet your individual needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 15 years experience as a counsellor working with people of all ages, from all walks of life. Over the years of my working life, I have gained a lot of experience so that I can work with issues such as anxiety, stress, challenging behavior, depression, loss and bereavements, mental health and cancer patient and their families.
I now work for myself and have supervision on a regular basis to keep up to date with my working practice through on going training. I am a member of BACP and adhere to their code of ethics, I am also covered by insurance.
