Bernadette Havenga, Dip. Couns., MBACP Registered
My name is Bernadette. I am a qualified and trained integrative therapeutic counsellor. My background was in healthcare, where I qualified and practised for many years as a Registered Nurse, School Nurse and Midwife.
I aim to help you resolve any personal difficulties or struggles you may be experiencing in life, and to guide you in finding your own way forward. I use a range of models of psychotherapy (for example, Person-centred and Psychodynamic), tailored to your individual needs and desired goals.
I will work alongside you on your journey, providing a safe space, with total confidentiality and in a warm, non-judgemental and supportive environment.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I practise within the ethical framework of the BACP. I am required to undertake regular supervision to ensure safe practice, and I comply with the mandatory continuous professional development (CPD) requirements of the Association.
I hold full professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate.
I work as a volunteer counsellor for CRUSE (bereavement support) and the YMCA. I have valuable experience in working with children and young adults, I also work in schools, both primary and secondary, providing counselling to children and young people.
My private practice is in Cotterstock, near Oundle, and is in close proximity to Peterborough, Kettering, Stamford and surrounding areas.
