My name is Ben and I offer a friendly and professional counselling service to adults.
My approach to therapy is based on the belief that everyone is an individual and has their own unique way of processing and dealing with the challenges of life and I will respect you in this way throughout the therapeutic journey we will take together. I also acknowledge that you are seeking help from someone who has undergone extensive training to help facilitate these changes and I can draw upon my training and life experience to help get you to where you need to be.
Over the years I have been working as a counsellor and supervisor I have helped many people move from a place of anxiety or stuckness to a healthier place of optimism and hope. This shift has enabled many people to make positive and beneficial changes to their life.
Some common life struggles I have successfully worked with are social anxiety, panic attacks, depression, feeling sad, low self-esteem and general anxiety. Once you find the right counsellor to work with these challenges can be worked on and positive changes made which lead to you living a more fulfilling and happier life, and who doesn't want that?
I welcome having a conversation with anyone seeking my support and so I offer a free 15 minute consultation. With so many counsellors to choose from today a personal telephone or zoom call can enable you to get a good idea of me and how I will help you move in the direction you want to go in. During this call you can ask me about how I practice and how I can help you. It also gives an opportunity for me to fully understand your motivation for coming to counselling. The great thing about these personal calls is that we will get a sense off whether we would work well together, and if this is not to be the case there is no obligation to continue.
I look forward to hearing from you

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

When I work
My working days are currently Wednesday - Friday
Currently I am running my counselling service online which is proving to be a great success. Sessions are run using Zoom which is a safe way for us to work together and saves you time by not having to travel.
I will hopefully be introducing face to face work in the near future but for now come and join me on Zoom.
