About me

I have 17 years experience working as a counsellor with individuals, couples and families. I offer a warm, non judgemental, confidential and effective service. I value the relationship with my client very highly and believe this is fundamental to the success of the counselling process.

Counselling is an exciting, challenging and empowering experience. The work will enable you to feel less confused, more confident and clearer about how to take control of your life.

I believe that you are your own expert and the counselling will go at your pace. I will work in a way that suits you and support you through difficult thoughts and emotions that you may experience.

I work with an integrative approach drawing on different models of counselling. My work is informed mainly by the psychodynamic systemic and CBT approach. This gives an opportunity for you to have a clearer picture of any changes you may need to make and or strategies you need to gain which will enable you to take control of your life.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Client Feedback:

  • Dear Belinda

You helped us at a very difficult time in our lives. You enabled us to understand how we needed to move forward and we are now closer than ever! If you are considering counselling Belinda's warm, professional manner will put you to ease to talk about the most personal things in your life and provide you with the support you need. Thank you Belinda!

  • Hi Belinda

You already know that I very much appreciated the work you did with me. Thought it would be good for you to know that I view it as a precious gift that I will treasure. Thank you for your help and encouragement.

  • Dear Belinda

Thank you very much for helping me understand my life and to be positive. You are very good at what you do. I needed someone like you to show me the road to recovery and to get me and my life back on track. I thank you and draw on the understanding and skills that I have learnt from the sessions.

  • Dear Belinda,

It has been great working with you. We both benefited from the sessions enormously and our communication patterns are so much better. I don’t know what would have happened without the sessions. Many thanks.

  • Dear Belinda,

It has been an enlightening and positive experience.

  • Dear Belinda,

Just a note to thank you for listening to me and for helping me to come to terms with the tangled facets of my life at the moment. You have helped me to realise that I have to take charge of my own well-being, and to become a bit braver at confronting certain issues. It does help to talk things through, as voicing things forces me to admit them to myself. Who knows what will happen, but my sessions with you have helped me to cope.
