About me

In my eyes, therapy is a partnership. It's not about dictating your path, but about listening, questioning, and understanding your unique experience in the world. My role is to support, guide, and sometimes challenge you, helping you understand your emotions, values, and beliefs. This understanding empowers you to make life choices that truly resonate with who you are, paving the way for genuine change.

Creating a Safe and Welcoming Space

Embarking on this journey can be daunting, involving hard work and confronting uncomfortable truths. Yet, I am committed to providing a friendly, relaxed environment where you can freely express yourself.

My Beliefs on Therapy:

Personal Growth Over Perfection: Therapy is not about becoming "different" or adhering to an ideal. It's about embracing your individuality and journeying towards where you want to be.

Invest in Yourself: Your therapeutic space is one of comfort and authenticity. It's a place for growth, healing, and sometimes, laughter. The journey may be tough, but it's worth it.

Happiness as a Choice: You deserve a joyful and fulfilling life. Happiness is a choice, shaped by our responses and mindset, not merely our circumstances.

Appointments

If you would like to have counselling sessions with me either online or in person, the first step is to reach out by booking an introductory call here and we can arrange an initial chat 15 min free chat.

You can also send me an email here, so that we can then arrange for you to have an initial counselling session with me.

This will give you an opportunity to tell me about your current difficulties and to ask me any questions which you might have about how I work and what to expect from our sessions. It’s then very much up to you to decide whether you would like to book further sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
