Barbara Jo Molloy MBACP (Accred) UKRCP Reg Counsellor , Supervisor, Hypno
I provide a warm, caring, respectful, non-judgmental environment in my purpose built garden office. I have over 12,000 counselling hours since 1999 and over 2000 hours supervising other therapists.
I am aware how difficult those first steps might be in making initial contact and arranging to come to the first session, and in talking about what may be very difficult and sensitive issues. I work with individuals, couples and groups and also provide supervision for qualified therapists, trainees and groups.
The relationship is the most important to me. I believe the people I work with experience me as warm, caring, gently challenging and empathic. I feel honoured to be doing the work I do and affirmed by the number of people who, after therapy, recommend me to others.
My sense of humour is also an important part of my being and personality and that part of me is present when appropriate. I aim to meet people where that are at being along side them in their journey.
I have been working individually with people since my early training as a teacher, specialising in working with young people from ages five upwards with Emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
I qualified as a teacher in 1975. Having positively experienced counselling as a child in the USA I was very aware of its benefits. I came to England as a young teenager. While working with young people with problems I became aware that there was a greater need for more therapy to be available for young people in Lancashire. During my training as a therapeutic counsellor I became a member of a working party which developed counselling for children in Lancashire.
I work with people of all ages and a wide range of difficulties. I also work with people who like the opportunity to use counselling for personal development or just to offload in a safe place.
Therapy is my passion and I always strive to offer each individual the best of myself with the utmost respect, compassion and understanding. My aim is to provide a safe confidential space where you can explore and work through your difficulties and grow personally at your own pace.
I am also a qualified hypno-psychotherapist ,which means using hypnosis in a therapeutic way, and an Expressive Art therapist. This involves using various other media such as art, or the use of miniatures to explore feelings.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
