About me

Counselling, Consistency, Change

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a qualified Counselling Practitioner with over 10 years of experience. I trained in the Humanistic approach of Person Centred Counselling and took further training in CBT as a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I am also accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

In over 10 years I have gained great insight into the field of therapy working with a vast number of clients in different areas such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, sexual assaults, domestic abuse and loss and bereavement. I believe that counselling is instrumental in changing lives as therapy calms, therapy empowers and therapy works.

As a practising therapist, I am able to be empathic and see things from the client’s point of view. I have a warm and caring nature. What makes me unique from other Counsellors? I have a vision, I am flexible and adaptable, I believe in free will and choice, and that the therapy is not about me but about my clients.

My brand is simplicity. I adapt my counselling to suit the clients, gain my learning from them and adapt my style accordingly. I don’t rush or pressurise my clients, I don’t tell them what to do or advise clients; I try not to make inappropriate judgements, I don’t assume to know anything prior to that session.

Clients have said to me in the past that I have a down to earth attitude, which instantly puts them at their ease. It means a lot to me that clients can see that their counsellor is someone like them and not someone who is somehow superior to them. It is my belief that taking therapy is taking action. My clients are the heartbeat of my practice. Counselling = Awareness.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
