About us

You are not alone; we are here to help you through.

Counselling available for mums, dads, grandparents, siblings, friends, anyone impacted by miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or SIDS.

We have a dedicated choice of therapists to choose from, all trained to understand and specifically work with issues that surround those suffering from miscarriage or baby loss (Royal College of Midwives Accredited).  Our counsellors provide an empathic relationship where you can talk freely without judgement and in strictest confidence.

Counselling gives you time and space to share your story, feel heard and deeply understood. Feelings can be safely explored, and you can take time to process your experience.

We offer face to face counselling, online sessions via Zoom, MS teams, Facetime or What’s App, and by phone. You will be guaranteed a warm welcome.

The network offers a selection of therapists and cost options, including an option for those who might find cost a barrier to receive counselling at low cost or free from two of our counsellors who are close to completing their training.

Details of each counsellor can be found below, or you can visit our Facebook Services page for individual counsellor profiles. You can also find us on Instagram.

The Baby Loss Counselling Network stands by and with you, today, tomorrow and always. Remembering all those who have gone from the world but live in our hearts.

About Grief

Grief is a powerful energy.  It can heal or destroy.  You can feel completely alone in your grief and it might seem like it is the end of your world.

Unexpressed grief can result in somatic pain and depression and can affect the relationships with your loved ones.  As painful and as difficult it is, it is important not to have to keep these experiences secret.  It is necessary to live through the grieving experience consciously in order to live and love again.  This takes time. The grieving process cannot be rushed.

Grief following miscarriage or baby loss is a deeply personal experience with no time frame and everyone deals with it in their own way.  The experience can be so profound that feelings of shock and trauma can take effect.  These feelings can be so overwhelming that you may feel completely lost and isolated.  Most parents describe their pain as the most intense they have ever felt and often wonder how they will be able to carry on.  With the loss of a baby, there is the loss of the imagined future with that child.  A lifelong loss that can cause anxiety and levels of grief to rise and fall over time, sometimes years later.
