Choosing a counsellor or therapist is a big decision and it is important to feel that the person you choose is right for you.

As a therapeutic counsellor and integrative psychotherapist, I combine a number of therapeutic models to provide a bespoke response to your needs(using many different theories and methods, depending on which will be most beneficial to you at this time)

I will meet your needs with empathy, kindness, curiosity, understanding, warmth and a genuine interest in your issues. I will use my experience, skills and my knowledge to make sure you understand yourself and connect to yourself.

I am always passionate about your issues, what brings you to therapy and focus on what you need and what you want and follow your pace. In this therapeutic journey, you can be sure that someone is really listening to you, engaging with you, commitment with your process and understanding you and providing encouragement to be who you are and to chart a course that will help achieve your individual needs and goals.

I will help you to clarify your confusion, support you and help you to connect yourself with meaningful and control.

In these difficult situations, I aim to help you to:

  • Express your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and values
  • Tolerance, contain and accepted
  • Learn how to listen to your body, your instencts and your intustion
  • Increase awareness and reflect upon what is troubling you
  • Develop coping strategies
  • Encourage you to believe in yourself and to understand that change can be possible
  • Make decisions
  • Deal with your issue more easily and feel control
  • Acquire clarity in coping or responding to situations/dilemmas
  • Understand your inner conflict and understand the triggers
  • Explore a general issue that you feel struggling and you need someone to understand and help you with these conflicts

I practice from four locations in Newcastle city center, Jesmond, Gosforth, and Wallsend all of which are easily accessible by car or public transport.

I will give you more information about the service, I provide and I can attempt to answer any questions you may have. I try to be as flexible as possible in arranging appointments taking into account your circumstances.

if you’d like to discuss your issues and how I might be able to help, I offer an initial phone conversation of up to 20 minutes at no charge.

This will be an introduction and assessment session and will last for approximately 50 minutes

This first stage will be:

  • An introduction to the process and I can answer any questions you may have at that time.
  • Confidentiality contract
  • Assessment is a conversation where I ask you questions about yourself, why you’ve decided to come to therapy and what your goals, hope to achieve.
  • Therapeutic contract
  • No therapy takes place at this stage.

With warm wishes

Avi Aharoni
