About me

Hello and Welcome

ABOUT ME

My name is Avi Aharoni and I am an accredited Psychotherapist and Therapeutic Counsellor working in Newcastle and North Tyneside area.

I am a fully qualified and experienced Psychotherapist and Therapeutic Counsellor, a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP.)

Feel free to contact me on 07954 135457 to discuss your needs. I offer evening, weekend, early morning and daytime appointments.

As a therapeutic counsellor and integrative psychotherapist, I combine a number of therapeutic modalities to provide a bespoke response to your needs.

I’ve worked with a wide variety of people: both men, women and people who identify in other ways, ranging in age from 18 to 80, each with diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

I aim to provide a safe, confidential, welcoming and open environment where we can work together as a team. In this space, you can explore past and present issues which may include, but are not limited to; depression, anxiety, panic, grief, trauma, bereavement/loss, relationship difficulties, self-esteem and anger management issues, loneliness, isolation or other mental health issues. I offer short-term counselling or longer-term depth therapy, according to on your needs and wishes.

How Counselling Can Help:

I fully understand that it can be a difficult first step to seek therapeutic support and that it may well feel overwhelming and provoke anxiety. It is therefore important that we start your journey by establishing a non-judgmental environment and a rhythm where you feel safe, can fully express yourself and where you are in full control.

To that end, we will always work at your pace taking one step at a time so that we can help each other understand what you are struggling with and to help deliver positive changes in your life. This therapy is for you and you only and I will meet your needs with empathy, kindness, understanding, warmth and a genuine interest in your story/narrative.

In this therapeutic journey, you can be sure that someone is really listening to you, understanding you and providing encouragement to be who you are and to chart a course that will help achieve your individual needs and goals.

My Belief

I believe the stronger the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client, the more likely the client will benefit from treatment. My goal is to provide an environment that offers the tools, support, and hope you need to rediscover the best parts of who you truly are.

At your first session, which usually lasts for around an hour, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy. I will give you more information about the service I provide and I can attempt to answer any questions you may have. I try to be as flexible as possible in arranging appointments taking into account your circumstances.

Where Am I Based

I practice from four locations in Newcastle city centre, Jesmond, Gosforth and Wallsend all of which are easily accessible by car or public transport.

Choosing a counsellor or therapist is a big decision and it is important to feel that the person you choose is right for you.

My contact details are shown below and you can telephone or email me to arrange a convenient first session where we can get to know one another a little and discuss what you want might for the therapy.

I look forward to working with you.

With warm wishes

Avi Aharoni
