About me

Hello and Welcome

My name is Avi Aharoni and I am an accredited counsellor working in the Newcastle and North Tyneside area.

As a therapeutic counsellor and integrative psychotherapist I combine a number of therapeutic modalities to provide a bespoke response to your needs.

I aim to provide a safe, confidential, welcoming and open environment where we can work together as a team. In this space you can explore past and present issues which may include, but are not limited to, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, depression or other mental health issues.

I fully understand that it can be a difficult first step to seek therapeutic support and that it may well feel overwhelming and provoke anxiety. It is therefore important that we start your journey by establishing a non judgemental environment and a rhythm where you feel safe, can fully express yourself and where you are in full control.

To that end we will always work at your pace taking one step at a time so that we can help each other understand what you are struggling with and to help deliver positive changes in your life. This therapy is for you and you only and I will meet your needs with empathy, kindness, understanding, warmth and a genuine interest in your story/narrative.

In this therapeutic journey you can be sure that someone is really listening to you, understanding you and providing encouragement to be who you are and to chart a course that will help achieve your individual needs and goals.

I believe the stronger the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client, the more likely the client will benefit from treatment. My goal is to provide an environment that offers the tools, support, and hope you need to rediscover the best parts of who you truly are.

At your first session, which usually lasts for around an hour, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy. I will give you more information about the service I provide and I can attempt to answer any questions you may have. I try to be as flexible as possible in arranging appointments taking into account your circumstances.

I practice from four locations Newcastle city centre, Jesmond, Gosforth and Wallsend all of which are easily accessible by car or public transport.

My contact details are shown below and you can telephone or email me to arrange a convenient first session where we can get to know one another a little and discuss what you want might from the therapy.
