About me
Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile. I'm Asteryth - therapist, musician, collector of words, lover of stories and wild places, explorer of worlds and endless rabbitholes.
My way of working is open-ended, which means we can continue our work together for as long as we both feel it's supportive. As a person-centred therapist, it's also organic - I won't offer advice or tell you what to do, but I will work stay alongside you through whatever your process brings. My approach is curious, conversational and collaborative. I'll actively engage with the imagery, metaphors, and embodied experiences that come up as we explore your world.
I'm human too, and my therapy practice emerged and is always evolving through the wounds and fractures of my own life. I have particular interest and experience in working with survivors of abuse and complex trauma, those who are marginalised and silenced, and those who are impacted by the many ecological, social, and political crises of our world. My practice is rooted in the belief that if you have been wounded in relationships with other humans or the world, a deep, authentic connection can hold the seeds for healing. That's why I will place the unique therapeutic relationship between us at the centre of our work together.
The spaces I hold are anti-oppressive, neuro-affirming, and LGBTQ+-welcoming. If what you have read about me and my practice resonates or has sparked your curiosity, please get in touch. I really look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience

- MSc Counselling and Psychotherapy (Distinction) 2025
My dissertation was entitled Cloud Elegies and Mountain Songs: Grief and wonder in an age of ecological crisis.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer a free 20-minute clarity call where we can get to know each other and explore what you might need from therapy, whether we both feel we could work together and how I could best support you. It's very important to me that therapy should be accessible to everyone who needs it and so after our initial conversation I offer sessions on a sliding scale. By paying my standard rate, you will be supporting me to continue offering inclusive fees for others. However, if this is impossible for you, you will always be welcome in my practice.
When I work
I can offer sessions between 10am-8pm Mondays-Thursdays.
