Assia Bandukda (MBACP)
Hello. I have helped adults suffering from anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement as well as low self esteem and relationship difficulties. I provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore your difficulties. As an integrative counsellor, I use elements from different approaches of counselling according to your needs, for example I can draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to help clients manage anxiety or negative self talk and use Psycho-dynamic insights to help a client explore the impact of childhood neglect on their way of relating to others. Regardless of the approach, you as a client are at the heart of all my therapeutic endeavours. Your needs and preferences form the basis of all our work together.
I have successfully helped clients in a variety of community settings within the NHS, within the charitable sector and in private practice. l have completed my couples therapy training from Tavistock Relationships. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy which means I follow their ethical and professional guidelines in all aspects of my work. I am also registered as an accredited professional with the National Counselling Society.
I have successfully worked with clients from all backgrounds and communities and celebrate the diversity of our human family. In addition to proficiency in English, I speak Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi languages if needed by my clients.
I currently work remotely using Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp as well as Microsoft Teams.

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
