Asma Mair - FdA BA (Hons) Registered MBACP (Accred)
Welcome! I am a professional qualified BACP accredited integrative counsellor and psychotherapist experienced in working with a broad range of issues. I work with individuals for long-term or short term therapy.
How counselling can help
The thought of seeking counselling or psychotherapy can feel like a daunting prospect. However, sometimes we can face struggles in life that seem too difficult to cope with alone. It takes courage in taking the first steps to seek help and support. My personal philosophy is that we are all complex unique individuals with our own needs, but sometimes these needs get distorted as we try to fit in and be accepted by others, or we simply become lost in the "busy-ness" of our lives. I believe that given the right conditions and support we have the potential not only to survive the problems of our lives, but to learn to grow and flourish as human beings. I also believe people have the right to explore who they truly are.
How I work
I offer an empathic, respectful space to do this safely and without judgement - a place where you feel listened to and where you can become involved in understanding more of what is happening to you. Our sessions will give you time and space to explore difficult feelings in an environment that is confidential and free from intrusion.
I work with individuals on a wide range of issues which include relationship issues, anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, family issues, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), lack of confidence, low self-esteem, cross cultural relationships, loss and bereavement, work related issues, redundancy, and eating disorders.
My practice is located at Odiham Cottage Hospital in the centre of Odiham with easy access by road. There is free parking on-site as well as nearby in the surrounding area. There is a waiting area if you happen to arrive early.
