About me

I welcome the opportunity to hear your story – whatever your reasons for seeking therapy.

I am constantly seeking connection - whether that's connection to myself, the humans around me, or connection to the land. My hope is that I can provide a space with helps you form and grow connection - most importantly with yourself and then with the other people in your life.

Connection with ourselves and other humans can be facilitated though human-to-human relationship in a traditional counselling room, or through human-to-more-than-human relationship in an outdoors setting such as a woodland. I offer both of these approaches and we can work together to find a balance that fits you best.

I believe that every story begins with people. Relationships are how we function and how we fall apart. Relationships are how we tell our story – how we understand and how we pull together again.

A witnessing relationship brings validation, empathy and dignity. It can bring hope and light.

Being a witness to your story is holding a protected relationship space for you - online, in a counselling room or in a forest -where your fallen apart pieces can be pulled together in a new, connected whole.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my counselling training at Exeter College and Iron Mill College, gaining a Certificate in Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Therapy.

I did part of my training during the pandemic years, so have a lot of experience with counselling online, as well as face to face.

I have completed numerous CPD courses on working with trauma and eating disorders.

Prior to training as a counsellor, I had extensive experience working with families, children and teenagers, both in home contexts and the Youth Justice system.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
