About me

I can provide you with a friendly, calm and confidential environment in which to talk through your difficulties and work together towards a positive outcome.

Some of the things I may be able to help with:

Unhappy relationships - especially where there is a pattern of things repeating

Feeling stressed, anxious or depressed

Struggling with a loss or bereavement

Difficulties with self-confidence and self-esteem

Feeling lost and isolated

Having difficulty adjusting to life changes

Struggling to contain anger or tears

I offer psychotherapy and counselling by telephone and online with a video link in English, in Greek and in French.

I run supervision groups of a psychodynamic and integrative approach for qualified practitioners and trainees, I also supervise the clinical work of individual psychodynamic therapists.

I trained at WPF Therapy, one of the leading training centres for psychotherapists in the country.

I practice time-limited and open-ended psychodynamic psychotherapy:

Time-limited therapy of 12 sessions, where we agree on a specific goal for what we need to work on the outset.

Open-ended, is a comprehensive work which allows a deeper exploration of one's difficulties. The end of therapy will be agreed at some point during the course of therapy.

Both modes of therapy involve setting a regular date and time and meeting weekly for 50 minutes at the time agreed. The relationship that will develop between us during these sessions is the core of psychodynamic therapy and it might take a few sessions for this relationship to emerge.

Both modes of therapy can be by telephone or with video link.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice from Roehampton University and WPF Therapy one of the leading training centres for psychotherapists in the country.

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and a Fellow of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC), and I abide by their ethics, standards and practices.

I am a clinical supervisor I run supervision groups for counsellors and psychotherapist of psychodynamic or integrative orientation.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BPC

British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
