About me

Individual Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for Adults

As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I offer individual therapy services to adults who are looking to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours in a safe and supportive environment. My goal is to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships and to work towards greater self-awareness and personal growth.

My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in a psychodynamic framework, which emphasizes the importance of exploring unconscious processes, developmental issues, and the role of early childhood experiences in shaping current behaviour patterns. I believe that effective psychotherapy is a collaborative process, where the therapist and client work together to create a supportive and non-judgmental space to explore difficult thoughts and feelings.

In our therapy sessions, we will explore a range of topics, including relationship patterns, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I will work with you to identify underlying patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and to help you develop new insights and perspectives on your life experiences.

My approach is empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive, and I strive to create a safe space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their emotions and experiences. Whether you are dealing with a specific issue or are looking to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, I am here to help you on your journey towards greater self-awareness and personal growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have an MA in psychodynamic therapy and practice and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice from Roehampton University and WPF Therapy, one of the country's leading training centres for psychotherapists.

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), an accredited member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), a Fellow of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC), and an accredited member of the European Association for Psychotherapy. I abide by their ethics, standards and practices.

I am a clinical supervisor. I run supervision groups for counsellors and psychotherapists of psychodynamic or integrative orientation.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
