About me

I'm an accredited and experienced psychotherapist. I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space in which you can begin to understand your experiences, modify old patterns and identify new possibilities.

Training, qualifications & experience

I undertook my professional training at WPF Therapy, one of the leading academic and clinical institutions for psychotherapy, gaining a BACP-accredited postgraduate diploma with distinction.  Alongside my private practice, I worked for several years within the NHS as an honorary psychotherapist at the City and Hackney Specialist Psychotherapy Service.  I currently work at Queen Mary University within the student advice and counselling service.  I also teach on the WPF postgraduate diploma course in psychodynamic theory and practice.

I have experience of working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures and across all age groups. I'm a member of UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and FPC (Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling) and adhere to these associations' professional codes of ethics.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

Before starting therapy, I offer an initial consultation.  This gives us the opportunity to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what your hopes and anxieties might be. It also allows you to get a sense of my way of working and decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

If we agree to work together, I would offer 50 minute sessions on the same day and at the same time each week. I work on a long-term (open-ended) basis.

I am regulated by a comprehensive code of professional ethics and guidelines, which includes a commitment to client confidentiality.

During the coronavirus outbreak, I am offering phone/Zoom sessions.
