About me

Counselling is a place where we can explore, understand and work together through problems and difficult emotions that you may be struggling with. I aim to provide a confidential, non-judgemental and supportive environment in which to do this.

I have trained to work with an integrating method, which allows me to draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques to suit individual needs and personal circumstance.

When working with children, I will adapt the sessions accordingly, using either a child lead or more structured approach. Play therapy skills may be used, where toys, sand and creative materials help the child to make sense of challenging situations and feelings.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy for a variety of issues including:

- Anxiety, depression and stress

- Bereavement or loss

- Low self-esteem

- Relationship difficulties

- Surviving trauma or abuse

- Anger

I also offer a highly effective one session therapy for Phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other Trauma related distress.

Unlike other therapies, this technique does not require you to talk over your difficult memories in detail. For those with phobias, you don’t need to remember when your phobia started to benefit. This is available to adults and children.

I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life, regardless of religion, cultural background, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Please get in touch if you have any questions, or to book appointment, on 07894858677 or april.clarkley@protonmail.com
