About me

Confidential online or telephone humanistic and integrative counselling offered UK-wide and Bristol-based face-to-face sessions (when it is safe to do so in Clifton Village and Southville) for young people and adults. I am a warm, friendly and approachable professional with a background working with children as a Play Therapist.

I work with you to create a safe space in which to talk through your challenges in life. I help you to identify barriers, to look at changing your perspective and we find ways to reduce any impact on you. I can work creatively with difficulties if you find things hard to talk about. I can use a variety of tools and techniques from my Play Therapy experience and we will go at a pace which is right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered BACP member who has been working in private practice since 2019.  I completed a Counselling Skills certificate in 2005 at UWE and am now fully qualified. I have also undertaken comprehensive training to safely and ethically offer online and telephone counselling to the required BACP competencies.

Additionally, I am an Accredited PTUK Play Therapist and Certified Play & Creative Arts Counsellor for Children & Young People. I have worked as a Play Therapist since 2012 and opened a private practice in 2018. I began my training as a play therapist over ten years ago.

I have three years experience working at two low-cost Bristol charities counselling people living with anxiety or depression and who are struggling to get satisfaction out of life. I have worked with people who have experienced trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement, shame and neglect.

Message me to find out whether we can work well together.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

PTUK

Play Therapy UK

Play Therapy UK is the largest organisation governing therapeutic play and play therapy in the United Kingdom. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Fees

£40 per session (Counselling) - £50 (Play Therapy)

I am unable to offer concessions currently with Counselling

We will have an initial session which will enable us both to see if we are a good fit. Finding the right therapist is really important - research proves that it's the relationship that is the important predictor of positive change - so you need to feel comfortable with me.

After that, if you think we will work well together, I would recommend continuing for at least a further five sessions so we have time to explore any issues in depth. By that time you should definitely know whether you want to continue on for longer. I will regularly check-in with you to make sure I'm on the right track and that our sessions are meeting your needs.

Message me to see if that initial connection feels right.
