About me

Hi, my name is Annie. I am an accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Hypnotherapist with a private practice Online via Skype and over the phone.  My approach to therapy is integrative and largely person-centred. Our client/therapist relationship is formed on the knowledge that we are all capable of change, evolution being the essence of life.

Warmth and compassion are vital components of my practice, whilst always maintaining a professional objectivity. My approach to helping you heal is energetic and engaging. My commitment is to listen, reflect and challenge old ways of being in life-enhancing ways.

If you've been feeling lost, alone, confused or afraid for a while but haven't known how to start changing things take a deep breath. It's going to get better. Sometimes we get lost in fear, loneliness and isolation; we begin to believe there is no way out. But we all need help and change can happen. With desire and consistency change comes.

Together, we can safely explore the past to better understand the modelling we received from our primary caregivers and therefore how our counterproductive ways of being all started. Grasping how things got to be this way is massive in terms of the impact on how we feel about ourselves. Loving ourselves for pulling through so far and having the courage to start asking questions is even bigger!

We then work through a process of reframing the way in which we view ourselves, others, and past situations. We shake things up. This renews our perspective and increases our sense of hope and well-being.  And then we practice doing things differently, we practice creating different kinds of thought patterns. In brief, this is the process of rebuilding our sense of self and it paves the new path ahead.

A bit about me - I was born in the US and moved to the UK in my late teens, almost 25 years ago. I studied Psychology at A-level before moving on to study Literature and Languages at University College London. I then worked in talent and lifestyle management for many years before re-engaging with my love of psychology and re-training as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in 2011. I have been working with clients in a private practice setting since 2014.
