About me

I am a person-centred therapist and I believe each client is unique for me there is no ideal client Just a person with the motivation to change even if this includes looking at some difficult area in their lives. The goals for each client is that there must be something better than how they feel now. This may be the need to deal with past trauma, abuse. Or that something has changed in life and a new direction is needed.

I believe each client as unique and together we construct a therapy that will meet the need of the client working toward their goal. Working with the person means I can address any issues in therapy and my approach is one that fosters healing, where the client is in control rather than a quick fix. I provide a safe space and where clients can feel free to express themselves. I value the fact that my clients have a diversity of needs and background and views.

In the first session with me, a client would experience warmth and understanding and learn that through acceptance that the potential for change is enormous. I understand that the first session can seem daunting, but I will provide the support so you can feel safe to talk.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained to become a counsellor after a career as a teacher. I have brought a lot of my experience of working with people from a wide variety of experiences.

I have CPAB Level 4 Therapeutic Counselling. At present, I am furthering my qualifications by undertaking a MA Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice. I believe that it is important that the counselling I offer is based on the latest good practice and researched methods.

Prior to setting up in Private practice, I have worked as a counsellor for a local charity providing low-cost counselling.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
