About me
I have been a qualified therapist since 2004 and have worked in higher education, third sector organisations, and the NHS.
While specific therapies are recommended for certain difficulties, I believe it is also important that we make a connection and that you feel I am the right person for you. We can only learn this by us spending a little time together so please do contact me and let's see if I can help.
Sessions are available during the day as well as evenings and weekends within a holistic therapy clinic in a beautiful village setting.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am BACP accredited as an integrative counsellor and a BABCP accredited cognitive behaviour (CBT) therapist. I am also trained in eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).
My commitments are to the ethical frameworks as outlined by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), and those of the EMDR Association.
I have supported clients in trauma services and domestic abuse settings and have much experience helping people through anxiety, trauma, relationship and communication difficulties.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
