About me

Are you looking for something different to the talking therapies approach? I'm an ADMP registered Psychotherapist specialising in the creative arts, dance/movement and the bodymind connection. I work in the Halifax, Huddersfield and Hebden Bridge area.

Do you want to approach your difficulties creatively, with guidance and holding?

Would you like to work in the present moment, following the wisdom and intuition of the bodymind connection, to move through stress, anxiety or depression?

Do you need to discover ways to express your emotions safely and/or work through any trauma or unexplained somatic symptoms held in your body?

Dance/movement therapy and the creative arts can reinvigorate the way you move through life and open up new possibilities for exploring who you are and the problems you face. As a dance/movement psychotherapist and creative arts specialist, I bring together learning from neuroscience and somatics; attachment theory; Jungian and humanistic perspectives; creative dance, sacred dance and the Arts; process work, yoga and voice work. I also takes a trauma-informed approach to wellbeing and mental/emotional health, recognising and working with the intrinsic connection between body and mind.

I work fluidly, integrating a variety of creative arts and psychotherapeutic approaches. I understand that each person is on an individual journey and will be drawn to various elements and aspects of dance/movement therapy for different reasons and at different times. I will set out a creative, gentle and supportive way of working together that will honour you, your process and the journey you are on.

My specialist areas are: anxiety, depression, trauma, unexplained somatic symptoms, stress, creative expression, feminist approaches, faith and spirituality.

Next steps:

Get in contact by texting, calling or sending an email.

At that point, I'll invite you in for the half our consultation to get a sense of how I work and whether you'd like to work with me. You can ask any questions you may have and explain a little about the issues you are dealing with and what you would like out of therapy.

Once we've agreed to work together, we'll fix a regular slot, either weekly or fortnightly, and set a date for the first review of our progress together.

All sessions are currently done online via Zoom. I'm happy to answer questions about using this platform if you are unsure.
