About me

Dr. Anna Spivack, MSc, DPsych, CPsychol, Chartered Counselling Psychologist

There may be times in all our lives where we feel less able to cope or understand the emotions we are experiencing. This can be triggered by many things, including bereavement, relationship difficulties, losing a job or health issues. In some cases, there may appear to be no apparent reason at all. In all cases, however, talking things through can often ease some of the pain we feel and help us to recognise a way forward.

About me

I have worked in the field of Psychology and Psychotherapy for over 15 years. I have worked with adults, adolescents and children, providing individual and group therapy. I have also worked with couples and families.

My particular area of expertise is in Eating Disorders therapy; I have worked with people suffering with Eating Disorders, and carried out research in this area.

I also have extensive experience of working with bereavement, trauma, terminal illness, health problems, relationship difficulties, parenting issues, low self-confidence, self-esteem, identity, loneliness, self-harm, addiction, anxiety and depression.

I have worked in a number of NHS organisations, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Tavistock and Portman Clinics, and Guy’s Hospital. I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and a full member of the Division of Counselling Psychology. I am also a member of the Health and Care Professions Council.

I am recognised with a number of healthcare insurance companies including BUPA and AXA-PPP.

What to expect from therapy

I provide a non-judgemental environment where you can feel free to discuss anything. I practise mainly within an Integrative framework, using elements of Cognitive Behavioural, Person Centred and Psychodynamic approaches. I am also trained in Psychometric Testing.

Therapy will take place in a safe, confidential space where you can explore your feelings, and together we can try to understand the circumstances which are troubling you. I will support you in finding a way forward that feels comfortable for you.

Location and Logistics

I am based in Finchely, North London, where I see clients in a welcoming, homely space.

There is parking available all day, apart from between 2 and 3pm. However, I can provide parking permits during this time.
