About me

I am a BACP accredited counsellor, with over 10 years’ experience of bringing a blend of my talking; listening; training; knowledge; authenticity; clarity and compassion to empower adults to overcome challenging times and improve their wellness.  I offer this service by aiming to create a safe, caring and supported environment for you to be able to share something of what is troubling you. I appreciate you might feel nervous and it might help you to know that I am used to helping people that talk to me feel as comfortable as possible.

I use my experience to support adults with:

  1. reactions to potentially traumatic events (you may notice you are not feeling as you did previously before the event)
  2. any types of loss that are both hidden or losses that take centre stage for you but that others in your life may be unaware of (relationships; self-esteem; work-life; financial; house moves; retirement and health to name but a few)
  3. bereavement, grief and mourning (those we care about and pets / animals)

I have experience of supporting emergency service personnel with personal and work related events and specialise in supporting anyone bereaved as a result of a death by suicide.

Apart from talking to me, if you'd like to get a sense of my work and my ideas please click on my social media links.

The starting point is to arrange a time for an initial assessment which will help you decide if you would feel comfortable talking to me and will enable me to discuss how I can help you. You can also ask me any questions you have.

If I can't help you myself I will offer some ideas about other possible support options.

Short term and long term sessions are available subject to clinical need.

My service is offered in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
