About me

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, registered with the BACP. As an integrative counsellor I draw from different therapeutic approaches including person-centred, CBT, existential, psychodynamic and transactional analysis. This means that my sessions are bespoke and built around what each client needs. I offer online and phone sessions as well as face to face from my practice room in Greenwich.

I believe that everyone is unique and important. We all experience times when life is hard or confusing. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or low mood. Perhaps you are having difficulty in your relationships. You may have gone through a past trauma or perhaps been diagnosed with a disability or illness and are worried about the future. Often it isn't possible to share difficult feelings with people in our lives and so therapy can provide a safe and supportive space, free of judgement, to express and work through uncomfortable thoughts or feelings. The idea of therapy can feel daunting but it can also be transformational.

I like to work with clients in a collaborative way, helping people gain more insight and self-awareness. We will talk about what you want to share and go at your own pace.

I firmly believe people are often more resourceful than they think and so I will also spend time identifying your strengths and what is going well for you.

I endeavour to meet every client with warmth, respect and kindness. I am caring, insightful and have a good sense of humour too.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Therapy is all about the relationship between counsellor and client. It is therefore so important that you feel like you are committing to counselling with someone who is the right fit for you. I offer a free introductory call to give you the chance to see if we get along and for me to get a chance to hear where you're at and what you might want to talk about in therapy. There is no obligation to continue to book a session after that.
