WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE?
During the sessions, you can expect to explore both your current challenges and how past experiences impact your daily life; with the ultimate aim to strengthen your sense of self and build a life that nurtures your needs for enjoyment, achievement and connection. We will delve into your inner world collaboratively with empathic regard for your culture and beliefs.
You might feel nervous or vulnerable at the idea of sharing your personal experience with a new therapist; you might also worry about the stigma of accessing support. This is why we spend time building a warm therapeutic relationship that fosters safety and trust.
The information you share with me during the sessions is confidential unless you are a risk to yourself or someone else. In these cases, I would always endeavour to discuss the need to breach confidentiality with you before taking action.
The first session will be used as an assessment and a space to discuss further the modalities of our working agreement.

Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a postgraduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy and have solid experience working in clinical settings within NHS and private sector mental health services, both inpatient and outpatient. I also have a background in arts and value creativity.
I approach counselling with a holistic mindset and believe an accepting connection between body and mind is essential for our wellbeing. I am an integrative practitioner, which means I recognise that everybody has different therapeutic needs; this is why I actively listen to you and aim for us to co-create an approach that works for you and your goals.
This might mean resourcing your psycho-education better to understand your emotions and reactions to life events, using psychodynamic principles to investigate how past events affect your current relationships, or using CBT and DBT tools to stimulate change.
I grew up in a multicultural family setting and moved to London as an adult, I am drawn to exploring what makes up our personal and collective identities. In the context of generational family migrations, I am passionate about autonomy, resourcefulness and resilience.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
