Ann Cain MBACP
When you are facing difficulties, it is often hard to find someone you can talk to, who will really listen and help you to find a way forward.
Whether you are struggling with relationships; feeling depressed, anxious or confused; feeling you have lost your identity or wanting to talk about past or present experiences which are troubling you, I am here to listen.
I offer a safe place where you will be heard with warmth and compassion, can feel valued and accepted just as you are and where you will be able to explore your concerns confidentially.
I find that counselling can bring about significant life-changes with the commitment of both counsellor and client.
It takes great courage to come to counselling and I believe that the most important part of the work is the relationship between us. Above all, I aim to build with you a safe, non-judgemental, trusting, honest relationship within which you will be able to explore the issues you bring.
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means that I draw on a range of methods, ideas and techniques according to your needs and what feels right for you. We will always negotiate both how we approach the work and the number of sessions.
I am about 30 mins away from Winchester, Guildford and Peterfield and within 30 mins of Basingstoke, Hook, Alresford and Farnham.
I believe that there are always choices and there is always hope. Each one of us holds all that we need inside ourselves. Counselling can enable you to understand your own emotions, thoughts, patterns, beliefs and physical responses. It can help you to accept what you cannot change and to change what you can and so live a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
Sessions are weekly and last for 50mins for individuals, one hour for couples.
I offer a one-off introductory session at which you may come and talk about your concerns and ask any questions you have.
If you choose to continue, we will meet usually for 6 weeks and, if it is helpful to continue, we will agree together the number of sessions to follow.
