About me

Hello, my name is Anjali. Thank you for taking the time to look through my profile.

My experience:

I am a CBT Therapist and Clinical Director of Brighter Life Therapy, a private practice offering therapy to adolescents and adults. My team and I mainly use CBT, which is one of the most effective and well-researched therapies for low mood and anxiety.

We particularly specialise in helping people to manage low mood, low self-esteem and anxiety. We are also trained to work with generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks/disorder, phobias, OCD and PTSD.

I personally work as a part-time lecturer and supervisor at a local university, so I am up to date with all the latest research and ideas. My team also work in the NHS alongside their work with us.

My approach:

We're a team of friendly CBT Therapists who always work hard to ensure our clients are happy and working towards their goals.

We work in a collaborative way, such that we provide the knowledge of CBT and you play an active role in your journey to feeling better by practising and engaging with the therapy.

What to expect in sessions:

We'll start with an assessment which lasts between 50-70 minutes. This can help us determine the main difficulties and explain how we can use CBT to tackle the difficulties. We'll then have weekly or fortnightly 50 minute sessions thereafter to help you learn CBT techniques to manage the difficulties.

Virtual sessions:

We're based in Reading, Berkshire, but due to Covid-19, all our work is remote and we can support clients anywhere in the UK via zoom or telephone sessions.

Virtual sessions work really work - it doesn't feel too different to face to face sessions, as we can still see each other. It's also ideal for those with busy schedules who have less ability to travel.

To get started:

If you're interested in working together, please email or call me to see if me or one of my team are the right therapist for you. We can then book you in for an assessment.

Training, qualifications & experience

Myself and my team all hold the following qualifications and accreditations:

  • BSc Psychology (Hons)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in CBT
  • Accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

I also personally hold the following qualification: Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).

Some of my team also have additional certificates and training.
