About me

Hello, my name is Anjali. Thank you for taking the time to look through my profile.

My experience:

I am a CBT Therapist and Clinical Director of Brighter Life Therapy, a private practice offering CBT therapy to adolescents and adults. CBT is one of the most effective and well-researched therapies for low mood and anxiety.

I particularly specialise in helping people to manage low mood and/or boost their confidence and self-esteem. I am also trained to work with generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks/disorder, phobias, OCD and PTSD.

I work as a part-time lecturer and supervisor at a local university, so I am up to date with all the latest research and ideas.

My approach:

I'm a friendly CBT Therapist and always work hard to ensure my clients are happy and working towards their goals.

I work in a collaborative way, such that I provide the knowledge of CBT and you play an active role in your journey to feeling better by practising and engaging with the therapy.

What to expect in sessions:

We'll start with an assessment which lasts between 50-70 minutes. This can help me determine the main difficulties and explain how we can use CBT to tackle the difficulties. We'll then have weekly or fortnightly 50 minute sessions thereafter to help you learn CBT techniques to manage the difficulties.

Virtual sessions:

I'm based in Reading, Berkshire, but due to Covid-19, all our work is remote and I can support clients anywhere in the UK via zoom or telephone sessions.

Virtual sessions work really work - it doesn't feel too different to face to face sessions, as we can still see each other. It's also ideal for those with busy schedules who have less ability to travel.

To get started:

If you're interested in working together, please email or call me to see if I'm the right therapist for you. We can then book you in for an assessment.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold the following qualifications and accreditations:

  • BSc Psychology (Hons)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in CBT (Distinction and award for Top Student)
  • Accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
  • Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA)
