About me

Through my experience as a Counsellor, CBT Therapist, Coach, NLP practitioner and PICT Practitioner I am able to offer a variety of tools to assist clients find not only their own answers but to find resolution enabling them to move on with their life.  Below is a small sample of areas I cover.

I offer standard hourly counselling sessions and ‘Personal Development Day.’  The day can be a whole day or split into two.

Each session is designed around your specific needs or goals’, allowing you a greater understanding of self, personal growth, resolution and other desired outcomes you highlighted at the start of therapy.

Each session will be client led and depending on the issues or outcomes desired will depend on the tools used and or suggested,  such as daily thought logs, visualisation techniques, goal setting, relaxation exercises, letter writing, motivational interviewing and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), CBT to name but a few.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am also a qualified life coach, this can be used within in your personal and professional life.

Coaching can be used in conjunction with counselling and some tools I use will be from both areas.

Coaching is you wanting to achieve a desired outcome and me helping you to find your own inner resources to achieve your goals.

I have found with coaching, clients will often present with one desired outcome and this will often change, they realise there are other areas within their life that need addressing, using NLP within coaching and counselling means you don't have to divulge anything you don't want to but through changes in the way we think can affect all areas of our lives.
