Royal Arsenal Psychological Services (RAPS) was founded in 2015 by Dr Anindita Sarkar BSC (Hons), MSc, DClinPsy, CPsychol. RAPS is a comprehensive psychological service based in Royal Arsenal (Greenwich), providing expert assessment and treatment for children and adults of any age who are looking to improve their emotional wellbeing and want to work out a solution to their problems.RAPS is a high quality, compassionate, safe and ethical service offering focused interventions to help overcome these difficulties.
RAPS offer supervision, teaching and training to mental health professionals. Consultations, teaching and training is also offered to education, social care establishments and other agencies, tailoring the sessions to the specific needs of the target group.

Mental Health assessments
Adults and Parents of children wishing to get a comprehensive assessment of their child's developmental needs (including autistic spectrum conditions, ADHD and global developmental delay) are offered an assessment without a long waiting list, concluding with a report that can be taken to schools and school SENCO.

Training, qualifications & experience
Dr Anindita Sarkar is a senior, experienced clinical psychologist working in the NHS since 2001 with a wealth of experience of working with mental health, behavioural problems, neuro-developmental and learning disabilities across the life span. Since 2010, she has specialised in child and adolescent mental health and neuro-developmental conditions alongside adult work.
Moreover, as a senior clinical psychologist since 2012, she delivers a wide range of evidence-based treatments in accordance with National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), which enables her to work flexibly and tailor to individual (child, adolescent and adult), family, school, work needs.
Furthermore, she is an experienced supervisor and has considerable leadership, service development, teaching and training experiences.
She is chartered with the BPS and registered with the HCPC. She is also registered provider and part of a number of leading health insurers’ practitioner networks – Aviva, AXA PPP Healthcare, BUPA International, BUPA UK, Vitality Health and WPA. As a member of these organisations she works according to their professional guidelines and codes of ethics. You can check these on their websites.

Initial therapy assessment sessions, which can be up to 90 minutes, are £120-170, thereafter therapy individual sessions are £95-110 per session. Typically, on-going sessions are scheduled weekly/fortnightly. Payment of the initial therapy assessment is due in advance of the assessment, by either cash or electronic bank transfer. Block payments of four to six therapy sessions is preferred and due in advance of the therapy block by electronic bank transfer. Individual sessions of therapy can also be done and payment of the session is due in advance of the therapy session arranged, by either cash or electronic bank transfer. Skype Sessions can also be requested to those living further way.
Please note RAPS is committed to working in a socially inclusive way, thus where possible Dr Anindita Sarkar will offer reduced fees for those unable to afford standard rates. If you require a service at a reduced rate please contact her to discuss this.
Specialist Assessments offered -
Cognitive Assessments are £800.00.
Assessments for Autism Spectrum Conditions are £2000.
Assessments /screening for ADHD £1000.00
Assessments for Autism Spectrum Conditions and ADHD are £2500.
Payment is due at the beginning of these specialist assessments either by electronic bank transfer or cheque.
School/ other professional meetings are £100 per hour (including travel time) plus travel costs.
Different fee scales apply to agencies, insurance companies and private healthcare schemes. If you are claiming through a private healthcare provider you may need to check whether you need a referral from your general practitioner or a psychiatrist. Usually, we would be able to claim the cost of the sessions direct from the provider.
Please note that RAPS operate a 48 hours cancellation policy otherwise full fees will apply.
Supervision and Counselling:
Dr Anindita Sarkar has considerable experience as a professional supervisor to clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, counsellors, nurse therapists, primary mental health workers, therapeutic trainees, psychiatrists in training and medics. Dr Anindita Sarkar also has CYP IAPT enhanced supervision training.
When possible, RAPS offer reduced fees for self-funded trainees. If you require a service at a reduced rate please contact Dr Anindita Sarkar to discuss this.
Payment is due in advance of each session either by cash or electronic bank transfer.
Teaching, Training, Consultancy and Supervision offered to educational, work, social care establishments and voluntary agencies tailoring the needs to specific target groups e.g., managing anxiety and low mood, understanding self-harm, understanding eating disorder and working with autism, ADHD, sexuality, how to make referrals to NHS services etc.
