About me

Hi I'm Angie. I am an experienced counsellor with a heart to empower you to be the best you can be. We all have courage although sometimes we feel lost and life throws stuff at us that rocks us and leaves us feeling lonely and feeling like hope has gone.

At the moment due to Covid regulations am offering online counselling which has been very successful and allows me to work with people all over the country.

Are you fed up with feeling like like your struggling and feeling like your not really living a full life, I would love to help you change. I believe counselling can and does change your life and I have seen it over and over again with clients I have had the privalage to work alongside and I honestly believe that given the right environment we can all change. We all need to be really heard and its so much easier with a therapist rather than feeling like we burden our nearest and dearest

One of my favourite quotes sums up counselling beautifully for me ..Brene Bown says " when we deny the story it defines us, when we own the story we can write a brave new ending"

A bit about me, I am an experienced counsellor and I work with a variety of issues including bereavement, self esteem, eating disorders, anxiety, phobias, trauma, stress, OCD, depression and relationship issues. I work with talking therapies and also work with creative interventions that can sometimes help say what words cant

I am also a qualified EMDR therapist (Eye movement Desensitisation reprocessing) which is a therapy that enables traumas to be processed thus leading to a massive reduction in trauma symptoms and allowing freedom for a better quality of life.

My value is in helping to empower you to change your life by helping you to understand who you are and why you make the decisions and choices you do. By understanding your past and who you are we will work together to challenge unhelpful thoughts and fears and help free you to become the best you can be.

I believe that counselling is a relationship between two people where we work together to achieve change.
I am fully trained to Advanced Diploma level and am an Accredited member of BACP. I am also a BPS qualified supervisor and have a certificate in EMDR. I am also a Senior Accredited member of the National Council of Psychotherapists and a schools counsellor.

I undergo ongoing training and have certificates in creative therapies and i believe it takes tremendous courage to change..you have already taken a huge step so make that change and take control of your life by taking that brave step and call me or email me....lets write a brave new ending together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
