About me

Welcome

It can be difficult to navigate life's challenges on your own. Having a confidential space for you to talk can be the first step towards making positive and lasting changes in your life.

My approach
I am a fully qualified therapist and counsellor, working in an integrative-relational way. This means that I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet your unique needs.

I offer a supportive therapeutic relationship in which you can find safety and acceptance. Together we can create a reflective space where you will be able to explore what troubles you; where all of your thoughts, feelings and experiences are welcome.

We might seek to better understand the relationship between past and present, your wishes, losses, hopes, and fears. In this way, we can work towards a happier, healthier way of being with yourself and others in the world.

My approach is collaborative, ensuring you have a choice in both the pace of the sessions and what you decide to bring.

In my practice, I work creatively when it may help to find new ways of expressing your experiences. This may include using tools such as a sand tray, stones or postcards.

Initial consultation
During the initial consultation, which lasts 50 minutes, we will dedicate time to discuss your situation, your reasons for seeking counselling and whether my approach is what you are looking for.

The initial consultation is charged at £40.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions before booking a session.

Training, qualifications & experience

Professional membership

  • Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

My qualification

  • BA Hons in Integrative Relational Counselling (Middlesex University)
  • Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (Birkbeck, University of London)

I am dedicated to ongoing professional growth and I have undertaken various courses to expand my knowledge and skills in different aspects of counselling. I have obtained additional certification in the following areas:

  • Attachment Theory in Clinical Practice
  • Complex Trauma Training
  • Addiction
  • Bereavement
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Experience
In addition to my private practice, I have worked in a number of agencies and counselling settings. This has allowed me to gain extensive experience supporting clients with a wide range of challenges, including grief and loss, life transitions, traumatic experiences, identity and sexuality issues, anxiety, depression, relationship and attachment-related difficulties, and work problems. Some clients have come to counselling without a specific concern in mind, but rather with a general sense that something does not feel quite right.

My experience has been further enriched by living and working in different countries in Europe and Latin America, which has broadened my social and cultural perspective. It is important to me that people from all walks of life feel welcome, and I approach my work with curiosity, openness, and cultural sensitivity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Inner Child Work - Inner child work involves connecting with, nurturing, and understanding the younger parts of oneself that may still influence current behaviours, feelings, and relationships. By accepting, and integrating these parts, individuals can gain a more authentic sense of self and live more fully.
