A. R Pourmohamedian (Roya Hamid) - Creative Arts Therapist (Drama)
I am known as Roya Hamid. Angela Roya Pourmohamedian is my registered name.
I specialise in working with children, young people and their parents/carers. I am a state registered Dramatherapist, Clinical Supervisor, School Counsellor and Dyadically Informed Psychotherapist.
Due to Covid-19 we can discuss whether you want video, audio, live chat or telephone sessions. I work online via Zoom as this is the most secure online platform for one to one sessions now offering password and waiting room features.
My approach is client-centred and play based. I work collaboratively with you, the client, at your pace in an open and honest way. The aim of client-centred therapy is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. It is through the relationship that change and development can take place.
Dramatherapy is an expressive form of psychotherapy that uses action methods, such as DRAMA, STORY AND PLAY to help us understand how we can change ourselves and the way we live. It offers alternative and creative ways of communicating and understanding what is often difficult to put into words and at times overwhelming to deal with.
It is can be easier for some of us to find 'our voices' and explore how we feel using creative methods; movement, sound, metaphor, story, enactment, small object work, art, clay, puppets and mask. The life/story connection can then be made and reflected on with the Dramatherapist. Talking and reflecting is also a welcomed part of the process.
If you would benefit from a confidential and non-judgemental space that offers encouragement and unconditional regard to whatever thoughts and feelings you are having please call me on 07932 070773 for a free introductory 20 minute call or arrange a call by emailing me Roya@royahamid.co.uk
I work in private practice, schools with children, young people their parents/carers and adults.
