About me

As a therapist, I work with individuals on a one to one basis, this can be either on a short or longer term basis.

People come to counselling for many different reasons; they may have lost their way in life or their passion and enthusiasm for the things that used to bring them joy. Some clients may be dealing with anxiety, low moods, shame, guilt, loss/bereavement or trauma and abuse issues.

I will not tell you what to do, but...

I WILL however, share any knowledge and resources I have with you to alleviate any emotional distress you are facing. Together we will develop your own set of skills and tools to use when necessary. So when you are feeling anxious and overwhelmed you will be able to draw upon your own specific techniques.

No two people are the same, so therapy will be specific to you.

I WILL offer you a safe and non-judgemental space, where you will be heard and understood, valued and respected. I aim to empower and support you, to promote autonomy, build confidence and self-esteem.

Our aim (you and I) is to improve your overall wellbeing, including relationships, sleep, confidence, lower stress and much, much more!

My work within local and national services has been to support those who have experienced domestic abuse as well as control and coercion.

I also work at Mind supporting children and young people both privately and in schools.

Daytime, Evening and Weekend sessions available, please get in touch if you would like to discuss potentially working together.

Training, qualifications & experience

My role as a counsellor has given me the privilege to work with adults from diverse age groups, cultures and backgrounds.

Some of my experience includes but not limited to, working with: anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, domestic abuse as well as control and coercion.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
