About me

Exploring Therapy with Me: A Journey of Discovery and Growth

I offer a counselling space where warmth meets professionalism. Here's a glimpse into how we might work together:

Talk Therapy: Through open and easy dialogue, you will be gently and compassionately supported, and challenged at the times you need it.  Together, we'll navigate your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, and uncover new insights, possibilities, and choices to help you move forward.

Body-Oriented and Trauma-Informed: Tune into the language of your body. By listening attentively, you'll gain deeper insights and understanding of your intuition, gut responses, patterns, and nervous system state. We can use these insights to promote healing and change.

Dynamic and Creative Approaches: There are many processes and practices I can share with you to enliven the process. Journaling, life mapping, doodling, creative visualisations, therapeutic letter writing...and more... to support you to gain new insights and moments of calm, and practices to take with you.

Therapeutic Coaching: When we've got a lot of what was in the way, out of the way... we can work together to help you move toward the life you really want for yourself! Therapeutic coaching is future-focused and strengths- focused.

Nurturing Inner Wisdom and Self-Discovery

There may be times when you want me to tell you what to do or what path to take, but I trust that in time you will develop the confidence and insight to move and respond from the place of your own inner knowing. I hold this vision for you, even when you don't (yet)

I won't give you answers or tell you what to do, I will help you uncover your own insights and solutions, explore new perspectives, and foster self-awareness and confidence in your ability to find your own path, at your own pace.... and we can work together until you get there...

Counseling: More Than You Might Expect

You might imagine that counselling sessions are always 'heavy' or 'difficult' but that is not always the case.

While counseling can involve exploring challenges, it's also a space to celebrate your successes, recognise your strengths, and nurture your talents.   In addition to addressing difficult emotions, sessions may also bring moments of laughter and uplifting connection.

Am I the right fit for you?

I appreciate that you may have hesitations and reservations about reaching out, and concerns about finding the right person and right support.

I make the process as easy and comfortable as possible, I offer a friendly and no-obligation 30-minute initial online consultation. This is an informal opportunity to meet one another, for you to share what's on your mind, and in turn, for me explain how I might be able to support you.

If after we meet, we do decide to work together, my counseling sessions can be time-limited, short-term, or longer-term. Rate concessions available.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
