Welcome to my profile. My name is Angela and I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor offering counselling in Melksham. I have worked and volunteered within mental health services for the past 8 years and this is still ongoing. I have volunteered for a local mental health charity, giving 1-1 counselling and facilitating peer support groups.
Counselling provides a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space, where people can explore their thoughts and feelings. It is often a process of deep self-discovery, enabling people to unlock their inner wisdom and find strength to face any difficulties they may have.
It can feel difficult if you have never experienced counselling before as it can be a daunting prospect in making that first step in making contact or finding the right counsellor for you, but by you even looking at this profile is a big step in you acknowledging to yourself that you might need some help and support in how you are currently feeling.
My aim is to offer you a safe and confidential space where I will listen to you without judgement and support you with your feelings. Sometimes we feel stuck, or that something just isn’t right; we can find doing everyday tasks a struggle and find that things that once gave us a sense of enjoyment, no longer do. Counselling can help open these feelings up and can help you to acknowledge these feelings and offer insight, which can help lead to any changes you feel you might want to make.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained as an integrative counsellor, which means that I draw from and work with many different theories which enable me to tailor my approach to your individual needs and aims of therapy. My approach is non-directive, which means that you lead the sessions and go at your own pace. so, you can feel free to talk about whatever is on your mind.
I offer both short term and open-ended counselling and psychotherapy. I offer a free 30-minute consultation, as this will give us an opportunity to meet and discuss your requirements. This will also give us an opportunity to see if you feel that I am the right counselling for you and how we feel about working together.

Once you have made contact with me, we will arrange a day and time that suits you for us to meet for a first initial consultation, which will be for 30 minuets. This is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to tell me about what has brought you to seek counselling, your hopes and expectations and for me to answer any questions that you might have.
Initial 30 minute consultation is free and each session there after is £40 Per 50 minute sessions.
Counselling usually takes place once a week, at the same time each week.
Some concessions maybe available.
I am a member of the BACP ( British association of counselling and psychotherapy and adhere by their ethical framework for good practice.
