About me

Counselling provides time in your week where you are listened to and supported to explore areas of your life that may be troubling you. Difficult issues that you are trying to manage can be explored and worked through. This will help you move towards living a more fulfilled life.

I am an integrative counsellor. This means I can draw on several different theoretical perspectives in my practice. My aim is to support you to work through difficulties in a way that is best suited to you and the themes you bring to counselling.

Since qualifying, I have gained experience counselling clients in various agencies such as the Southmead Project and Carers Support Centre.

I offer both short term and long term counselling. Short term work is suitable if you wish to work towards a specific goal, for example managing stress or problems at work. Long term counselling is more appropriate for working through deep seated issues, often developed early in life. Such issues need space and time to work through.

You may have a clear idea of how long you would like to be in counselling or this may be something you wish to discuss with me during our first session.

If you would like to find out more or to arrange an appointment please get in touch - I will be happy to answer any questions or to arrange an initial meeting.

During a first meeting, we will discuss what you would like to gain from counselling; it is also an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me. After this meeting, if you would like to continue we will arrange further sessions that are held weekly.

Training, qualifications & experience

Between 2010 and 2015 I worked with young people in a therapeutic community; The community specialises in offering therapeutic support to adolescent girls.

I started gaining experience as a counsellor when I worked for a counselling charity called The Southmead Project Bristol. I worked here initially as a student volunteer between 2011 - 2015 and then as a paid and fully qualified counsellor  between 2016 - 2019.

I also worked with adult carers, counselling clients at the Carers Support Centre between 2019 - 2022.

I started my private practice in 2016, and now work solely in this sector, both from my office in Clifton and online nationwide.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
