Aneta Stamenova, BSc (Hons) Psychology, PGDip, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and a psychologist.
I work with people who struggle with relationship and family issues, dissatisfaction with work, anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorders, depression and feelings of sadness, phobias, low self-esteem, bereavement, separation and divorce, eating disorders, sexual problems and others. In my work clients are helped to think about the underlying reasons for their suffering, the exploration of which could enable over time better understanding and a greater sense of agency over one’s life.
I do primarily long term work but I also work on short-term basis.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a highly individualised treatment. If you are interested in finding out whether you might benefit from it, the best way forward would be for us to meet for a consultation.
The consultation is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to look for treatment, your particular situation and problems, and what might be the best option for you in terms of treatment.
During the consultation, which might take more than one meetings, we will also discuss the commitment your therapy would involve - time-wise, emotionally and financially.
This kind of treatment is generally better suited for frequency of sessions of two or three times a week but it is possible for the work to happen once weekly.
The consultation will allow us to reach to a clearer understanding of whether this kind of treatment would be suitable for you.
