Andy Garland is an experienced and British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited psychotherapist with over 20 years in practice, specialising in anxiety and depressive disorders. Based at his private clinical practice in the city centre of Cardiff. His work also focuses on weight management, as well as addictions and phobias. Working closely with sexual minority groups, Andy has established a thorough grounding in this area of mental health.
With over 20 years experience in human behavioural development, Andy is both qualified and has gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in his field of study.
Described as a 'natural therapist', 'dynamic' and 'engaging' by the people he works with, Andy is known for his professional, friendly style.

Training, qualifications & experience
Andy's first degree was obtained from Cardiff University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) with Honours in Adult Education and Developmental Psychology. His connection with Cardiff University remains with his post of lecturer in the School of Social Studies within LEARN. He studied for his Masters degree at The University of Sheffield graduating with a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychotherapy.
He's currently reading for his PhD in Psychotherapy. As well as his academic qualifications, Andy continues to update his skills and knowledge in his field with on-going development in the area of mental health and wellbeing.
He holds a host of post-graduate qualifications relevant to his study, including Clinical Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Psychoanalytical therapy.

With busy lifestyles, juggling professional and personal obligations, finding time can often be a challenge. Andy's private clinic is centrally based in the city of Cardiff with easy access to public transport and major routes in and out of the city.
Free parking is available at the clinic making visits more convenient (where available). Appointments are available Monday to Saturday with both early and late sessions offered.
Each clinical appointment lasts for approximately 50 minutes.
Psychotherapy/Counselling - £55.00
Couple Therapy - £70.00
Home visits can be arranged.
Andy is an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist he abides by the code of ethics and conduct outlined by these governing bodies.
