I have been practising counselling since 2018, And work in a trauma informed way whether that being providing short-term counselling or long-term counselling. I am also well versed in neuroscience and the clinical applications of Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment Theory. and have undertaken extensive CPD training in these.
My approach to providing counselling is an integrative approach which essentially means I am able to draw on a number of different therapeutic models of counselling to best help tailor the counselling to the individual and what would best help with your presenting problem(s). Also we would look at what you need from receiving counselling and what your goals would be and what you hope to achieve.
Clinical Approaches:-
- Psychodynamic:- Attachment Theory, Inner Child Work.
- Humanistic:- Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt.
- Cognitive Behavioural:- CBT, Reality Therapy.
- Interpersonal Neurobiology:- Window of Tolerance, Polyvagal Theory.
In our sessions we can explore any difficulties you are experiencing in order to help improve your wellbeing and mental health. An important parts of the counselling would consist of Psychoeducation. Which is providing information of what's happening in your body and brain when your nervous system becomes dysregulated and learning coping strategies/techniques that can help restore a sense of balance, safety and regulation.
I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation (telephone or online video call) to enable you to find out a bit more about how I work as a counsellor this can enable me to can answer any questions you may have. And help us to determine if it may be a good fit for us to work together and if I am the right counsellor for you to work with.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
