About me

Hello, my name is Andy and I’m a qualified, experienced and registered Counsellor in Glasgow.

I offer an integrative Counselling approach, drawing from Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also blend in relevant theory from my background in Psychology to help us both make sense of problems.

One of the guiding principles for my work is that therapeutically it’s the relationship with self that heals. This experience helps me work in line with your needs and goals. You, being the most important part of the Counselling.

Our problems with e.g. anxiety, depression or panic are just as unique as we are. This makes you the expert on you…and the expert on who you could be.

Special areas of interest include:

  • Abuse
  • Anxiety & Generalized anxiety disorders
  • Depression
  • Panic
  • Relationship issues
  • Suicide

While you can’t go back and change the beginning, I would love to meet you where you are, and help change the ending.

Please use the contact tabs to arrange our first session or check out my website for more information.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • PgDip Counselling & Psychotherapy
  • Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • PGCert in Counselling Skills
  • BA (Hons) 2:1 Psychology
  • OCST Online Counselling Diploma
  • ASIST Certified

My therapeutic practice has been developed in a variety of settings including an Employee Assistance program and in Third Sector Charities. More recently, I have worked within an organisation offering specialist therapeutic support for individuals affected by sexual abuse. A passion for education led me towards working within a University Research Clinic and Student Counselling Service. I have also worked therapeutically supporting individuals with additional support needs. All these experiences help me effectively connect to people as individuals, and not simply view people as problems (being friendly helps too!).

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and remain committed to working within the BACP ethical framework.
